 In Blog, Updates

A clean elections bill was approved on a 5-3 vote by the Portland City Council this week.  Under the policy, contested Mayoral candidates who receive a qualifying amount of small donor donations could initially receive $40,000 in public funds to campaign, and then could receive additional matching funds for qualifying donations up to $100,000.  For City Council at-large candidates, an initial $10,000 could then supplemented by an additional $30,000 in matching funds, with $4,000 and $12,000, respectively, available to district specific candidates.
