Cal-Access Updates Further Delayed
First established in 2000, California’s online lobbying and campaign finance disclosure system known as Cal-Access was set for a multimillion dollar update originally scheduled for 2019. However, due to a combination of leadership turnover, ambiguous contracts, and technological difficulties, Secretary of State Shirley Weber recently informed State lawmakers that the update is now further delayed. A four step plan has been created to finish the update which is now scheduled to be completed in June 2026.
