New York City Council Eyeing Proposal to Slow Revolving Door

Legislation introduced yesterday would expand the two-year limitation on lobbying for certain City officials and employees. Currently, covered officials and employees may not lobby their former departments for at least two years after leaving office. The recently introduced proposal would expand that restriction to all of City government. Additionally, the restrictions would be extended to all employees with substantial policy discretion.  So far, 11 of the New York City Council’s 51 members have already expressed support.
