New York – COELG Ruled Unconstitutional

A New York trial court ruled that how leadership is appointed to the state’s new Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government is unconstitutional on Monday.  The court found that the system improperly permitted appointments from people other than the Governor, including an Independent Review Commission of law school deans.  The state has stated that it will appeal the decision, which is likely to make its way to the state’s highest court.
