Hawaii – Bill Introduced to Regulate Election Deepfakes

SB 2396, a bill that would regulate the use of deepfake technology in elections, received its first committee hearing in the Hawaiian legislature on Friday, adding the state to the growing chorus of jurisdictions moving to regulate artificial intelligence in the elections space in the absence of federal oversight.
