California – New Transparency Measure Requires Officials to Disclose New Jobs

Gov. Newsom signed Assembly Bill 1286 which requires California elected officials and state appointees to disclose new jobs they have accepted before their term ends. Officials must state the date they accepted the job, the position they will take, and what their employer does. FPPC Chairperson Silver said the reform “guarantees that Californians know their government is working for them, not for private interests.”
